NEW ORLEANS -01-07-2021

Debra Oliver-Hammons
Director of Policy and Procedures

Debra Oliver-Hammons, director of policy and procedures, has been awarded a Certified Corrections Executive credential by the National Commission on Correctional Certification, a program of the American Correctional Association.

Candidates for the CCE certification qualify on the basis of their experience and accomplishments in the field of corrections. Then, they must successfully complete a comprehensive examination that tests their knowledge as a corrections executive.

Director Oliver-Hammons's new credential is a highlight in a corrections career that began in 1990 as a deputy jailer with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Memphis, TN. She worked her way through the ranks, attaining the position of assistant chief of programs in 2015 under Shelby County Sheriff Bill Oldham.

Director Oliver-Hammons retired from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office with 27 years of service. She came out of retirement to join the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office in November 2017.

Please congratulate Director Oliver-Hammons for obtaining the highly regarded CCE designation.
